This type of prosthesis is medical necessary after a partial or total rhinectomy  (resection of a nose).  The creation of nasal prostheses or artificial noses is rather important because it restores multiples functions while restoring a normal appearance to the face. It helps moisturizing and warming incoming air, restore normal speech, serve as support for eyeglasses.
